Sapo in Gokchang-ri, Hakgyo-myeon has been called Seoho, and nearby Daegok Village was where the Jeollado Naval Force Command Post stood during the Joseon Dynasty. A fishing and resting site was installed in 1984.

In the past, it had strong tides, but when an estuary dam was constructed on the Yeongsan River, the tides became weaker and the number of freshwater fish increased. Since Donggang Bridge on the Donggang River was built in 1992, it has had a convenient transport system, and since then, it has been loved by anglers all year round. A growing number of people visit to appreciate the beautiful nature along with catfish, Prussian carp and carp and enjoy fishing in the cool river breeze. Many gourmets enjoy hot-pepper fish stew at a nearby resting place.

As a carpet-like grassplot was established nearby, one can enjoy golfing all year round at the Hampyeong Dynasty CC.
