Hampyeong Butterfly Festival held on the unique theme of butterflies is an environment-friendly ecological tourism festival, and since it started in 1999, it has been visited by many tourists from home and abroad. It was selected as the best festival by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in 2009 and has emerged as one of the representative festivals held in Korea.

Hampyeong Butterfly Festival enables visitors to experience, learn, enjoy and feel environment-friendly ecology in convenient agricultural amenities! The festival gives children an opportunity to experience ecology and leads adults to reflect on their childhood.

It enables visitors to enjoy tens of thousands of butterflies in a flower field of milk vetches, rape flowers and flower grass, and diversified and unique events that can lead many to experience the beauty and preciousness of ecology are held.

A total of 30 programs including Aquatic Plant Study, Butterfly Catching Experience, Barley and Pea Burning Experience, Natural Coloring Experience and Performances are offered.
